Sliding Into Grace
The night of November 20th, 2009, our oldest son was in a car accident.
His best friend came over to pick him up to go to the movies. He would have driven himself except I caught him spinning the tires at a stop sign with his little brothers in the car, so as any loving parent would do, I grounded him from driving over the weekend. The movie they chose was sold out so they ended up driving around. After visiting a couple of sport & electronic stores they left going through the dark backside of the parking lot and turned out unto a street that in less than half a mile would put them at a dark deadend.
The streets were slick with fresh rain and the windows fogged quickly. By the time they saw the road was gone it was too late. "HOLD ON!" his best friend screamed as he prepared to slam on the brakes. The mud was loose and slick under the tires and suddenly the ground fell away as the SUV careened unto its right side just before the cedar tree in their path brought them to a crashing halt followed by the air bags deploying instantly.
Thankfully both boys had their seatbelts on and after a brief bit of shock and dissmay were able to shimmy out the drivers side window which now faced the heavens.

This is the tree that stopped them from rolling further down the hill.
It was by Gods Grace that both boys walked away unharmed that night.
Every day my wife and I pray a hedge of protection around what God has given us stewardship over, including our children, and on this night, since my wife was out of town, she said an extra prayer, just moments before the accident because the Holy Spirit prompted her to and she heard and obeyed.
Often we do not see what we pray for but when we do it is powerful.
As for my wife and I, we know first hand the power of prayer.

The times, they are a changin'
Unfortunately, there is an excessive amount of activity on a global
level that should raise the eyebrows of anyone concerned for
what liberty is left to them at this point. What we see in progress is
a foreshadow of Bible prophecy coming to fruition to bring about
mans seven year endgame of history which will be starting very
soon. As God has clearly stated in His written word (the Bible,
which when looked at in the proper perspective is the greatest love
letter ever written) the world will end up with a one world
government, currency and religion. All roads at present are leading
towards the first two agendas of this scenario and the third one
will develop shortly after 1st Thessalonians, Chapter 4, verses
13-18 occurs, which reads:
 The Coming of the Lord 13Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. 14We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15According to the Lord’s own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words.[i] |
This is the event that those whom love the Lord and read the Bible refer to as the rapture, and when this occurs those of us who are living for the Lord will follow His command! It is my speculation that once this takes place, there will be great chaos and confusion in which Satan and his fallen angels will be ready to take full advantage of in laying the foundations for replacing what has been removed with their ungodly desires. They have already drawn their plans for a final act although God is the true director and He will have the last word and scene where He will appear in all His glory with His saints to transform all that has transpired: From chaos to order, injustice to justice, abomination to Glory!

The next big attack
In the ongoing war on terrorism, it is not a matter of if but when is the next big attack on American soil. It seems that the FBI has been hard at work uncovering plots here on U. S. soil in New York ( May and September ), Aurora, Colorado last week, and now Dallas, Texas just yesterday. All is not quiet on the western front (USA) when it comes to this war and I am afraid too many have grown complacent and it will remain the case until something horrific happens. We all have been too busy trying to survive the economic fallout and it's aftershocks for the past year to see the signs of imminent danger headed are way. My fear is the next attack or multiple attacks will drive this nation into a state of panic and Martial Law in which I don't see us rebounding from. As we approach the midnight hour of the seven year tribulation period in bible prophecy there is no indication of a powerful nation in the west, which indicates that America will be dethroned as a world power either from within our own administration or major attacks from terrorists or what is most likely, a combination of both.

Where Do You Stand?
Do you feel as if the world is reeling?
Are you not sure of your footing?
25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash." ( Matthew 7: 25-27 )
The majority of the people in this world have built a foundation on shifting sand.
It is most commonly referred to as economics, defined as " the social science that studies the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. "
It seems that everywhere you turn today in the developed nations of the world, businesses and financial institutions are crumbling beyond repair and headed for a total meltdown.
Guess what? They are!
God is giving the world and its inhabitants a message, dare I say a clue to what is coming.
This present condition we find ourselves in as a fallen world continues to unravel as God's time clock ticks off the precious moments we have left before the curtain rises on the final act in this play we call life.
My question to you is, are you ready?
Do you know where you stand?
Are you confident, standing upon the Rock of Ages, comforted by the arms of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ,
or are you slipping on uncertain ground?
If you are unsure, choose this day, this very moment, to give your heart to Christ.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. ( John 14:6 )
Believe me when I say there is nothing more precious to Him than you.

The time we are given is precious!
The one area of stewardship that God equally distributes to His children is time. I don't mean that we are all guaranteed a set amount of years to live out our lives and figure out why we are here, I mean 24 hours/1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds in a sunrise to sunrise given day. Each one of us may do as we choose with that time and most are rather selfish with what we are given due to our nature. Less than 5% of that time do I give back to God. If I give Him lets say 15 minutes between prayer and reading the bible in a 24 hour period: 15 divided by 1,440 =.0104 / move the decimal point over two spots that gives God a whopping 1.04% in a 24 hour period of time! I don't know about you but I suck! Sorry God, you deserve better! The bible tells us the truth of the matter in Isaiah 64:
Isaiah 64:6All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
When I started this blog, my intent was to post at least once a week and I have had a hard time making a post once a month!
My main message for this post is this: Don't cheat yourself out of valuable time spent with Christ!
Make it a point to put Him first in your day. He will make it worth your while!

He is in charge!
If your present situation has been troubling or challanging at times and you are not sure of what to expect in the days ahead I bring you good news. No matter how unsure things look at first glance know this: God is in control.
Jeremiah 32:27"I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
It is important to know what we cannot do or control what is in God's hands and His will.
Luke 18:27Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."
Presentlly the world as a whole is suffeing an economic crisis. It is my speculation that this is because God is trying to send us a very important message.
Matthew 6:24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.
If you find yourself obsessed with finances my advise to you is get obsessed with God.
He is the one who supplies all your needs and He is the one who made you with a purpose and a plan!
Philippians 4:19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1:11In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
While we tend to look at the present picture, God's focus is on the end result, which
is to transform us so that we will be ready to spend eternity with Him in glory!

History in the making
Did you know that you are the sum of your choices? From the moment you awaken each day, given that you live in an environment of freedom, you get to choose your words and your deeds. Many people refer to this condition as free will. Do you ever stop to think how your words and actions effect others lives? We live in an age where you have the opportunity to reach out to hundreds (if not thousands) of people throughout the world via this tool we call the Internet. If you could tell the world anything, what would you say?
What is it that has the most weight on your heart?
I choose this day to say to you my dear reader one simple truth:
God loves you.
That my friend, is the truth. His love beamed its brightest when he sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to our realm of existence to send a message to all humankind that we our loved. Out of the love Jesus had for God, He chose to die on a cross, arms outstretched to the world, to take upon Himself all of our sin, past, present & future, so that everyone would have the choice of changing their eternal condition.
Only you and God know the condition of your heart, and only you can choose to except Christ in to change it and that my friend, is history in the making!

The Ponzi Scheme
What is a Ponzi scheme? I pulled this info from the Security Echange Commision web site:
"Ponzi" Schemes
Ponzi schemes are a type of illegal pyramid scheme named for Charles Ponzi, who duped thousands of New England residents into investing in a postage stamp speculation scheme back in the 1920s. Ponzi thought he could take advantage of differences between U.S. and foreign currencies used to buy and sell international mail coupons. Ponzi told investors that he could provide a 40% return in just 90 days compared with 5% for bank savings accounts. Ponzi was deluged with funds from investors, taking in $1 million during one three-hour period—and this was 1921! Though a few early investors were paid off to make the scheme look legitimate, an investigation found that Ponzi had only purchased about $30 worth of the international mail coupons.
Decades later, the Ponzi scheme continues to work on the "rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul" principle, as money from new investors is used to pay off earlier investors until the whole scheme collapses. Presently a gentleman by the name of Bernard Madoff is being investigated for what some call the greatest Ponzi scheme of all, but is it really? As a nation, we trust in a paper currency that is backed by nothing (our founding fathers are rolling in thier graves over this one) and our debt to GDP is suicidle at best! Our President elect is under the assumption that he can fix this and I found a few links to some articles of interest if you wish to subject yourself to hard truths on the matter, please do.

On a prophetic level, what does our present situation look like and where will it lead? One truth I have learned in my studies of scripture (thanks to God blessing me with wisdom and knowledge from Him) is that there is always a spiritual root for what is present in our physical realm.
Ephesians 6:12 (New Living Translation)
12 For we[a] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
As a nation whom has been a blessing to the jewish nation of Israel we have been blessed.
Genesis 12:3I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."
But greed has run rampant in our society and it does have consequences.
Ecclesiastes 5:10Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless.
1 Timothy 6:10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
One day soon our system of currency will fail and we must realize that is not where are faith is to reside.
Galatians 2:16know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified.
One day a man shall rise to address this worlds wars and woes and many will believe his promises and think he is the shizzle!
Revelation 13
1And the dragon[a] stood on the shore of the sea.
The Beast out of the Sea And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? This is the greatest Ponzi scheme of all and unfortunately many will fall victim to a lie. I pray that many lives may be changed for eternity in reading this by choosing Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives and having their eyes opened to the truth!

A Burdensome Stone
For those of you who may be unaware of recent activities in Israel, let me bring you up to date. Despite a ceasefire agreement made earlier in 2008, the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas has relentlessly been launching rockets into southern Israel from the Gaza strip and increased this activity at the end of last year. Israel has chosen to strike back mightily as any self-respecting democracy should to defend its people and homeland. Interestingly enough a majority of world leaders and news outlets are quick to accuse Israel of using too much force in its defense. Excuse me??? Since when is it wrong to effectively defend your own nation against hostile and dangerous attacks from your enemies? I believe we are seeing the beginning signs of Zechariah's prophecy coming to pass.
“The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” (Zech 12: 1-3)
About 80% of biblical prophecy has already been fulfilled and this particular piece of prophecy has yet to pass. Folks, every day as we spiral more and more into chaos from a world that is running rampant due to its decay in morality and ethics, the headlines and events in our near future are going to read more and more like biblical prophecy because that is what we are seeing. it will continue to get worse before it gets better, and the better is the return of Jesus Christ!
“The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” (Zech 12: 1-3)
